Huntingdale Auto Club, or ‘HAC’ as it is affectionately known within the sport, was founded in June 1961 by a group of young motoring enthusiasts who decided they could enjoy their sport more if they did it with a group of friends and we still follow that ideal today.

Unlike many other car clubs HAC is a ‘non-marque’ club – that is members with any make or type of vehicle are welcome to join. No matter what you drive, recent or old, sporty or not, you can join in activities with HAC.

Club level motorsport is the most affordable form of motorsport and your standard road car, four cylinders or V8, manual or automatic, is an ideal car for our level of the sport. In fact regular road cars are the most common type of vehicle used in club competition and the amount of fun you can have with your car will surprise you.

Huntingdale Auto Club caters for the competition oriented driver. A broad range of competition activities are available to club members – motorkhanas, sprints, hillclimbs, autocross, khanacross, rallies and others.

Other activities include social get-togethers such as dinner or film outings and occasional visits to places of interest which provide the opportunity for members to meet and socialise away from the pressure of competition events.

Junior members (from age 12) and family groups are encouraged to participate in both competition and social activities, either as a competitor or perhaps helping out with event organisation.

Since its inception, HAC has been a member of the Confederation of Australian Motor Sport (CAMS) the controlling body of motorsport in Australia, and HAC members continue to play leading roles within the CAMS organisation, assisting with the organisation and promotion of motorsport.

HAC is also a leading member of ‘Group 5’, a group of clubs whose members compete against each other in both speed (circuit) and motorkhana (driving skill tests) championships. HAC members and the Club itself have had many successes within the Group 5 organisation.
